Fold began in 2002. Both John and Dan have spent many years doing live audio and video for fun whilst moonlighting as professionals.

John is an energetic underground video artist and media activist. He is one of the co-founders of the global IndyMedia network. He is an open sorce hard/ soft ware advocate who enjoys makeing socially aware media. His day job is abc.net.au/rn/nightair

enFolding media

Fold's basic premise is to bring synchronised audio and video together in a live context. Unlike wallpaper VJs, we want to take the PA as well as the projector.

We use film and video the way DJs use records and CDs. The difference is, when we drop a piece of audio into a mix, we like to show the images that go with it. Often this will be the "original" images, but we like to experiment with the idea of what are the "right" images for a piece of sound...

By bringing liberated, distilled and freely dissassociated media objects into new relationships with each other, Fold hopes to enable imaginative re-readings of the subtexts of our mediated lives.

Sometimes controversial, often experimental, always entertaining.
